Mission

The School of Health Sciences is committed to training health professionals who combine academic excellence, clinical competence, and community service. Through rigorous programs, applied research, and partnerships with health institutions, the school will contribute to strengthening Zambia’s healthcare system and advancing global health.

Academic Focus

The School of Health Sciences will align its programs with the Zambia Qualifications Framework (ZQF), the Higher Education Authority (HEA), and relevant professional councils such as the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) and the General Nursing Council of Zambia (GNC). Areas of specialization will include:

  • Nursing and Midwifery: Preparing compassionate, skilled practitioners for diverse healthcare settings.
  • Public Health: Training professionals to address community health challenges, epidemiology, and health promotion.
  • Biomedical Sciences: Equipping students with laboratory and diagnostic expertise.
  • Pharmacy and Pharmacology: Focusing on safe, effective medication use and pharmaceutical innovation.
  • Nutrition and Dietetics: Addressing food security, wellness, and preventive health.
  • Health Systems Management: Developing leaders in healthcare administration and policy.
